Work From Home Opp, Writing

So, yesterday, my older sister stopped by to vent about something that happened at her job. She stayed for a few hours, and we talked about it. Now, her and I are like day and night. She’s more routine, I’m more free spirited. She’s conservative, I’m opened minded (to an extent…lol). Anyway, about the only thing we have in common aside from DNA is our height.

During the conversation, she was saying she feels she’s ready for the next chapter in her life…to move on from her job. She works for the school district as a para-educator with special needs kids’, and her strength is English grammar. I suggested to her, “Take up writing.” She said to me, and I quote, “I’m not like you. I can’t write about seahorses, travel, science…You know the only things I really care about are the Spirit of Christ and health and nutrition.”

A tidbit about my sister….she’s been a devout (and I mean devout) Christian for over 30 years. Also, she’ll be 47 this year. She’s built like she’s still 18, and she looks like she’s mid to late 20s….no one can believe she’s pushing 50. I suggested she write about those subjects. She’s a poster child for looking great at middle age, and she can rattle off scriptures like a mother reciting Mother Goose. These are her strengths, and I feel she should use them for informative purposes because I am, and I will continue advocating “writing” to be the best work from home opportunity online. Here’s why:

1.) It refines who we are. I firmly believe everyone has a strength, and everyone has information to offer about their strength. My strength is research, and I know this. Except, maybe secret shopping, I don’t consider myself an expert in any one area, but I feel I know how to look for and find answers and information (research). That’s why my article topics vary so much….I research and write about it.

2.) The long term income potential -- Think about famous singer/songwriters. With some exceptions, most can retire early because the royalties continue on and on and on. Writing is no different and both are all about volume. If J.K. Rawlings sold only one book, she’d probably be collecting welfare. Volume and residual income from writing can be accomplished by writing and collecting large amounts on one thing, such as a book or song, or writing and collecting small amounts on many things…such as articles.  If you're great at it, you can write and collect massive amounts on massive things...bookoo bucks.

If you can read, you can write because there are plenty of self-help books written to teach how to write.

Don’t let fear stand in the way. It’s all about practice, practice, practice. I am in no way a great writer. But, two things that are on every “to do” list I make up for the day are write and learn. Sometimes, the learning involves reading about writing to pick up a new tip or to remind me about one of those English rules I didn’t pay attention to in high school and forgot about after college. And, because of this, I have seen improvement in my writing since the first article I wrote.

I dabbled in lyrics for a few years, and I am published. At one time, I was collaborating with someone who really new the industry well and was great at composing. During a conversation about some lyrics I wrote, I mentioned to him, I thought I should change the title….I thought the title might sound, “corny.” to other people. He told me never to doubt myself that way, and he want to explain, any writing is about who I am, and if I am writing to appease everyone else, I would lose that.

Yes…writing has to be communicated for others to connect with and understand, but it should still maintain an essence of who the writer is.  This comes with style, choice or words, etc.

Associated Content pays on page performance based on page views. There was an article written about a place in my neck of the woods, and I read it. It was EXTREMELY well written and interesting. I looked up the producer. At that time, she had been a member for three days, written two articles, and had over 1,000 page views total. I had been a member for two months, written 5 articles and had roughly 700 page views total.

At first, this gave me an inferiority complex and was discouraging. But after pouting about it, I looked at the situation for what is was, and here it is:

Yes, she’s a great writer, I won’t take that away from her. But, her articles were also in the editorial section, controversial, opinionated, and stirred up a pot. These types of articles will always grab more attention then my animal facts or chemistry facts. And, I don’t care to stir pots. She will most likely always have higher producing material than me, but I want to stay true to myself.

There are several writing opps on line. For the past week, I have been researching “hard” to find other opps for re-publishing, and I have found several that I will be blogging after I get my feet wet with these companies and am sure they are positive sites to work with.

Meantime, below is the link for A/C if you would like to start writing. If you want to start writing for Helium, please email me at pros4success@aol.com. Helium gives the writers a total of 50 invitations to send out for referral credit. If you are serious about writing, I’d appreciate the referral. A direct link to Helium (without giving me the referral) can be found on my site at www.secretshoppingforsuccess.com Click on “GPT Write” from the navigation bar, and the link is there.  For some reason, Helium links will not work  inside my blog.
